While Clarity promotes plain language law, and most of its members are lawyers, PLAIN promotes plain language in all disciplines.
Most CALC members are lawyers in parliamentary counsel's offices in the British Commonwealth. CALC is devoted to their concerns in general, but this includes drafting statutes in plain language.
Clarity shares active members with each organisation.
